don’t call out the search party

I am alive and well.

It’s amazing how working for your church volunteers you for other activities. For example:

Every year our church throws this fun “Girls Night Out”-like event called the Christmas T.E.A. (Tuesday Evening Away). I enjoy going as much as the next gal, but the planning, that’s for someone else to do, ya know?

Not so, now that I work there, I overhear things like “I really do need someone else on this committee or that” and how can I just listen and not volunteer?

So now I’m helping with the publicity side of this Christmas T.E.A.

Who knows what else I’ll get myself into?

Anyway, Husband and I really enjoyed our first anniversary weekend, if you so care to know. We actually want to go back just before he gets deployed in November. Fun times.

You should also know, that tonight is the first night of Youth Group (YG) for the year, and I mean to tell you, it should be interesting.

Y’see, I used to be that teenager who never wanted to go to YG because I didn’t really feel like I fit in. If it weren’t for one leader in particular who actually asked some of my peers to reach out to me, I doubt that I’d have ever become a regular.

That being said, I now feel the need to be “that” leader for other girls, and I picked some tough ones. Tough.

I know that I won’t see the fruits of my labor right away, I just hope that I’m not crying uncle by tomorrow morning.

Pray for me.

Good luck with everything, we really need to hang out once you get less busy, I have lots of excting things to tell you.

I think DDTM told you the church would suck you in for everything. That was the gospel truth (pun intended).

Would it be wrong for me to say, “I told you so.”?

No it would not – because I’m a GENIUS!

I will pray for you, because in 2 weeks, our YG starts, and I want to be THAT LEADER for some unsuspecting youg girl too. This will be my first year though, so pray about that for me, too.

God won’t call us to go where He won’t go with us. (I just made that up… aren’t I clever?)

Good for you! I’m glad you’re finding stuff to keep you busy. And I’m sure God will use you mightily in the lives of these young people.
