Creepy Eyes

I don’t like to be mean to people. Generally speaking, I’m very easy-going, easy to get along with, and very friendly. I’m sure this is how I get myself into the predicaments I’m about to describe, but I can’t stop nonetheless. It’s just who I am.

There are two men in particular who I either work with indirectly throughout the day or at least pass by throughout the day. I give the obligatory smile, maybe a hello and move on. They have both taken this as an invitation to linger with conversation or just continually stare at me with their creepy eyes while I walk away, annoyed.

The sucky part is, my engagement ring is off being re-set so I don’t even have that standard “leave me alone, I’m taken” sign for all the world to see. Not that it ever really helped, it’s just nice to flash at them at the beginning of our encounter.

I’ve even tried being mean. If I pass them casually in the hallway, I’ll ignore them or I won’t look at them. If I happen to be trapped in conversation, I try my best to look annoyed, not smile, and just have an air of impatience about me. IT DOESN’T WORK! They still ask how my weekend was, smile and stare in general areas that make you wonder what it is they’re looking at. Gross.

Maybe I’ll have L come to my building one day and kick some major butt. Things can only go up from there.

That’s what you get for being pretty! No just kidding! But I do get a slight chuckle out of this, I think you should no longer smile, wave, say hi, etc. Just come off as a huge bitch and that will surely cure them!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. 22 interns. 2 girls. It’s just creepy stare after creepy stare all day long. I guess that they don’t get any better as they get older though according to your blog…sighhhhhh…

nope, they sure don’t. In the words of my sister (who gets stared at regularly by the creepiest of men)

“Gosh! I wish I was UGLY!”

    Were it only that simple…..
